Our history
About Tooele Pioneer Museum
The Tooele Pioneer Museum has been established to collect and display pioneer memorabilia. Our goal is to preserve and illustrate Tooele County's progression in education, arts, science, manufacturing and agriculture. The Tooele Pioneer Museum displays written histories of early Tooele County, as well as pictures, portraits and artifacts. It includes illustrations of life, conditions and activities of Tooele's past and provides preservation of such materials. These materials are made available to all who would be interested and want to study Tooele's diverse history. We also have an extensive and a must-see Indian artifact collection.
"It is good to look at the past to gain appreciation for the present and perspective for the future. It is good to look upon the virtues of those who have gone before, to gain strength for what lies ahead. It is good to reflect upon the work of those who have labored so hard and gained so little in the world, but out of whose dreams and early plans so well nurtured, has come a great harvest of which we are the beneficiaries. Their tremendous example can become a compelling motivation for us all, for each of us is a pioneer in his own life." Gordon B. Hinckley
We want you to be part of our museum and experience its beauty and this is why we offer several ways to let you engage with us to help maintain and develop the museum. Maybe you have Pioneer heritage, or you live in Tooele. Come see what the early settlers brought to the Tooele valley. See what the Indians also did and left behind.. We have everything for all of you.
